MBUK overview....

1-Why ride here?

A great fun venue already with a good spread of trails suitable for all types of riders, with loads of new trails in the pipeline including a new jump trail. Totally privately funded with full planning consent, backing from the forestry commission and boasts what must be the fastest uplift service in the UK available every weekend. Also has regular winter/summer DH races and lots of new events and trails planned for 2012.

2-Trails grading-ie black etc

Black & Red.  Blue planned for the future plus miles of green bridleways over the woods at the back of the park

Trail names - Big Grin, Ladder Ally, Wiggly Woo, Devils Dyke, Tsubo, Ali's Finger + the start platform and the 'Bridge to Far'

3-RAD AND BAD-3 Bullet points on the park ie-RAD Uplift-Bad-if wet

RAD - Super fast 30+ runs a day uplift, growing number of trails for all levels, free to ride

BAD - Sharp flint so use body armour, not the easiest place to find, push up is long and hard - use the uplift

4-Locals do-locals don't-ie do,wear body armour.Don't drop litter

Do always wear leg and arm armour plus a full face if you have one as there is tons of stone age scalpel blades (flint) in the ground. Do take some cash for the uplift and some refreshments - not only good value but helps keep the project alive. Don't ride out of hours or drop litter or push on the uplift track.

10 "did you know" Interesting fact about ukbp-ie the amount of hours spent and earth moved on the uplift track etc?

Two months to dig the new uplift route with one digger 14hrs a day, park run and built by riders, self funding, free to ride, uplift truck takes 1min 30 secs to the top, scratch free bike trailers, uplift driver loads/unloads 1800 bikes a day, 120mtr vert drop, very steep gradient, 3500mtrs vert decent a day possible with 30 runs on the uplift, hosted 2009 BUCS champs, 3 rounds of the NPS 4X, held 30+ DH races since starting, has a great group of local's who help out, supports local riding talent, formed 2007 with nothing but mud(!), open 5 days a week Wed - Sun, timber used for building was felled and milled onsite, cabin cost 99p off ebay and was a pre school nursery, we do everything ourself's - building the trails/uplift/carpark, building the uplift trailers, fitting out and running the kitchen, printing number boards/making trophies/race timing for races - but not cleaning out the toilets! Paul Howell has been there from the start with Ali Wilson his business partner emergrating to Canada in 2009 with Wayne Renton taking his place.
